Vietnam Day 4: War Remnants Museum and Reunification Palace

We spent our fourth day in Vietnam on another walking tour. On our first day, we didn't have enough time to visit War Remnants Museum and the Independence Palace so we dropped by these two famous landmarks of Saigon before our flight back to Manila.

Independence Palace - Originally the residence of the French colonial Governors General, it also became the residence of the first President of the new Saigon Republic in 1954. It was renamed to 'Reunification Palace' after the Vietnam War.

War Remnants Museum - We got to know more about the Vietnam's side of the story and how aggressive the US was during the Vietnam war. It was heartbreaking to know how their human rights were violated for almost 20 years. The war ended in 1975 but the memories are still fresh to the hearts and minds of the Vietnamese people.
