Guiguinto is one of the industrialized municipalities in Bulacan but not so popular to many. When you passed by Tabang or Sta. Rita Exit along NLEX, you are actually in Guiguinto. I was born and raised here and for me it is a perfect haven, not so urban and not so rural area. You can breathe fresh air at the same time you not are deprived with all your needs. There are schools, hospitals, banks, supermarkets, fastfoods/restaurants, police stations, telcos, FX/van terminals etc. It is 25 to 30 minutes away from SM North Edsa. The primary livelihood of families here is gardening/landscaping. I love going home because whenever I'm riding a tricycle along Violeta Village, all I see are plants and colorful flowers. The sad thing is our family don't have our own garden because we were not blessed with green thumbs, but our neighbors do, so better move on and leave it to them. Our former mayor, Ambrosio 'Boy' Cruz have founded the Halamanan Festival way back 1999 in honor of our patron saint, St. Ildephonsus. It is being held every 23rd of January. Last week, I was able to witness 'Indakan sa Kalye' (Street Dancing) as part of the 14th Halamanan Festival, it happened in the afternoon, and I didn't mind the heat of the sun and just enjoyed the show. Selected students from elementary, high school and college participated to represent their respective alma mater. All participants were talented, they wore colorful costumes, creative props and everyone was eager to win the grand prize.
